Parakeet possibly trying to mate with his acrylic toy swing?!?

My parakeet is being sooo weird right now. (I had 2 birds, they had 2 babies but the father passed away.) He has a mother and a sibling (idk if it’s a boy or girl, its cere changes alot), but this one is currently sitting on top of the purple acrylic swing in the cage, and looks as if he’s trying 2 mate with it..omg its kind of funny but scarey someone who really understands parakeets PLZ HELP!!

Yes they often latch on to something or someone and see it as a mate. Its normal and ok as long as the bird does not get territorial with the object and mean to you or the other birds. If it is not that it will be something else it picks. Usually means its a male. It may also regurgitate on it which is also a sign of affection in bird world.
