Should I spend hundreds of dollars for an x-ray of the leg of my dog?
I was playing with my dog in my kitchen last night and launched to catch that toy that was released into the air. I think we landed on one leg badly, because she began to scream and mourn very strong, but stopped after one minute. Now it is using only three of his legs, dragging the right-rear leg back. I took him to the vet earlier today and all the doc said was that the injury was at the hip. In general, the rest of the leg is fine. The doc gave me an option to make an X-ray, but I'm not sure if this is necessary. How bad can a 25 lbs. dog was injured when jumping only on the ground? On the other hand, I care, if the leg is not the heel itself and becomes a serious problem. Is it possible that it is a dislocated hip joint? or something more serious?
