Homemade pet food

The current crisis in our pet food supply has many of us looking for homemade recipes for dog food for our beloved pets. I've been cooking for our dog for many years and find that especially likes the same food we do. Each animal has its own preferences, as we do. For example, our Oscar will not eat tomatoes, but Bonnie loves them. Use these recipes as a starting point instead of recipes homemade dog food. Then, as you discover your preferences pets You can further customize them. One caveat: you should not serve onion or chocolate to dogs as they contain substances that can be toxic to dogs.

Some veterinarians prefer raw meat for our pets. I prefer cooking the meat due to concerns over E Coli and other bacterial contamination. If you want to use raw meat, do not use ground beef. The grinding process increases the possibility of contamination, providing more surface area for bacteria to grow.

Canine Meat and Grain Menu

2 cups cooked brown rice
2 / 3 cup Lean beef
2 teaspoons lard – vegetable oil or
1 / 2 cup vegetables – no onion *

Mix everything together. You can serve the meat raw if you use slices of beef. Do not serve raw ground beef, the milling process increases the chances of bacterial contamination. Use any vegetable you like. You will find over time that your dog will not leave any vegetable likes. Mix all the above. Serve slightly warm but not hot.
